JAYSON TATUM HAS SHOWN THAT HE IS CAPABLE OF HANDLING A BIGGER LOAD IN THE BOSTON CELTICS’ OFFENSE. BUT, PLACING THE ROOKIE IN A HIGHER ROLE MAY NOT BE SO EASY.

The media and the fans usually follow their favorite player very closely. So, those who follow the Boston Celtics already know how Jayson Tatum has been a noticeable hostile part for the team. He has always been dedicated to his game and has improved himself in every way possible. But the question that everybody has in their mind is that why does he only shoot nine or more times per game?

Tatum’s way of playing is quite understandable it may be unique for some people but it is understandable he plays 50 percent of his shots from the field position and 48 percent of the shots from the three-pointer position. He has the best average per game that is 14.2 points per game.

FINDING A BIGGER OFFENSIVE ROLE FOR JAYSON TATUM

*PEOPLE JUDGE THE PLAYER BY HIS SHOOTING SKILLS THE BETTER THE SHOOTING SKILLS BETTER THE PLAYER. AND THE SHOTS THAT DETERMINE THIS ARE THE THREE POINTERS, FREE THROWS, AND THE TWO POINTERS.*

Looking at his performance he has proved himself as the most important player of the team. He plans his every move in his mind and focuses on the ball to do them properly. His way of playing is sharp and quick. He can easily get pass through the defenders. And this proves how hard he has worked on himself.

The results are pretty clear Tatum’s performance has surely benefitted the Celtis. His presence makes a lot of difference for the team. You can notice one thing by yourself if he takes a minimum of 8 shots in a game the score climbs up to 21-6.

When he takes less than 8 shots per game the score climbs down to 8-6. The difference is enough to show how important is Tatum for the team. Tatum has always given his best for the team.

Thinking that we are taking away Kyrie Irving’s the motor of offense is wrong. The most preferred option to go for is Marcus Smart. His skills and hard work makes him one of the best three-pointer shooter of all time.

If you think that throwing perfect three-pointers makes him a better player then you are thinking the wrong way. A player should know how to shoot from every side of the court that is what makes him a better player and people idealize them.

Smart is a player that does not get demotivated easily if his shots are not falling in place. He will fail several times but he will never stop trying not to put every shot right. If you look at his average shots per game you will believe what I said before.

He has an average of 9.5 shots per game and the team also prefers him to take most of the shots because of his confidence in himself every time he takes a shot. He brings glory to the house.

Coming to the next question we have is should Jaylen Brown reduce his attempt of 11.2 field goals per game? Brown has been working hard to prove that he is worthy enough to be in the team. He has surely improved his skills and techniques.

Whosoever said that “Hard work pays off” said it right during the second year of the league we saw a drastic change in Brown he was not the same he was in the previous season. Marcus Morris is the only player who can shoot longer than Brown and Smart. Marcus once shared the struggle he did to stay healthy and how hard he worked after that to prove his worth for the team.

But it is not as simple as you think it is. It looks like that he is easy to tackle him but it is his improved technique that makes him difficult to tackle.

Okay, let us try looking at the problem from a different angle. Tatum has pushed his limit from the beginning. He was considered after Irving, Horford, and Brown. Playing with young players has always been an extraordinary experience they most of the time forced to play offense.

He is already a better player and always tries to be better and is ready to become the center of the unit. Change in rules or any other important decision would run by him. He is now a part of the decision-making committee for his team. Seeing him like this motivates the youngsters and motivate them to work harder and also increases the confidence of the rest of the team.

Tatum, Smart, Terry Rozier, Semi Ojeleye, and Aron Baynes have all together played 19 minutes together. The team whole together is difficult to defeat and is one of the strongest sides. [source]
